Odds of data center disruptions increase as budgets get cut
AFCOM (The Association for Computer Operations Management) found that nearly half of the data center managers they surveyed expected cutbacks and believed that disruptions were possible because of the cost-cutting and reduced investments in security, reports ComputerWorld.
Data center managers are worried that the recession will have a big impact on their operations. They are also concerned that the costs of power and cooling will put pressure on their data centers and make it difficult for them to keep pace. Data center managers are concerned that layoffs and buyouts of experienced workers will cut the data center skills and hinder operations.
